Pastor Brad Bellah
was installed as pastor by Shepherd of the Sea (SOS) Lutheran Church in a
service led by Rev. Melvin E. Amundson, assistant to the ELCA-SC Bishop
Sunday, Aug. 7, in Garden City, SC. A covered dish dinner in honor of
Pastor Brad’s installation followed the service.
“Having been authorized by the Church to install Brad Bellah, our
co-worker in the Gospel, as Pastor, I now ask for certification of this
Call.”
“We, of Shepherd of the Sea, after prayerful deliberation, have elected
Brad Bellah to be Pastor. I present him and this letter certifying the
call.”
Pastor Brad Bellah came from St. Timothy (ELCA) Lutheran Church where he
served as assistant pastor in Goose Creek. He and his wife Mandy Bellah
and daughter, Gracie, and son, Drew, transferred their membership to SOS
from St. Timothy. “I accept your call and look forward to serving with you
as your next pastor,” he said in a recent church newsletter. “I am aware
that we will face many joys and challenges in the years ahead, but I rest
assured that we do not face them alone.”
Among members assisting in the ceremony were SOS Church Council President
Richard Draper and Church Pastor Call Chair Robert Fleming. Michele Dukes
was the assisting minister, and the organ was played by Judy Barrett.
Pastor Brad has scheduled initial office hours from 9 a.m. to noon Monday
through Thursday for anyone who needs to speak with him.
