Praying Hands Ministry: We Need You!

For more than eight years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Praying Hands Minister—and I’ll let you in on a secret: I used to be terrified to pray aloud!

When I first joined the Praying Hands team, I worried I wouldn’t know what to say. I didn’t have fancy prayers memorized or the eloquent words my husband, Brad, learned in seminary. But when someone came forward asking for prayer, I simply opened my heart—and the words came.

I believe that was the Holy Spirit giving me exactly what I needed to say.

You can do this, too! You don’t have to be a Stephen Minister or an experienced public speaker. You just need a willing heart and a desire to pray with and support others.

Our Praying Hands Ministry Team needs new volunteers. Prayer ministers serve on a rotating basis during the worship service they normally attend, offering personal prayer to those who come forward after Communion.

Not sure if you’re ready to commit? Come try it a couple of times! You may discover, as I did, that praying for others is not only a gift you give—it’s a gift you receive.

Come join us and let the Holy Spirit do the praying through you!
